About Millside Studio

The story starts .....................

I am a full time artist working from both my studio at Mangerton Mill and also from my studio at home in Beaminster.

As a child l loved to paint and draw (as most children do) but the enthusiasm has never left me, in fact as the years go on l find it’s becoming more intense and l feel the need to paint or ‘create’ every single day. I like to experiment with mixed media and enjoy creating art with collage.

The workshops that l run from Mangerton are a great way for me to share my artistic experience and encourage others of all abilities to try a new technique in a relaxed and friendly environment.

I have a City and Guilds qualification in creative textiles and spent three years working towards the final assessment. I also have a C & G certificate for teaching adult and further education.

I love to ‘stitch’ and create textile art. Dorset’s coastline and countryside is a constant inspiration and l have used this theme in many textile projects.

I have attended short courses at both the Sarum Studio in Salisbury ( an independent school of fine art ) and also The Newlyn School of Art in Cornwall.

Tracy has previously taken part in Dorset Arts Weeks, exhibited at the Burton Bradstock festival of music and art and also at The Sou’ Sou’ West Gallery at Symondsbury. She is a current member of The Bridport Art Society.

She has spent time with local artists John Meaker, Michael Chappell, Charles Hallsworth and Tara Harland Viney. Their advice, guidance and encouragement has been invaluable over the last decade.

Now available to visit local art groups, residential homes and other groups to give demonstrations and workshops. She has enjoyed teaching at local art groups such as Puncknowle, Bothenhampton and Chideock and is looking forward to visiting Somerton Art Group in 2022 a little further a field.

Tracy has been holding a regular class at Coneygar Lodge Residential Home in Bridport for the last three years (temporarily suspended by Covid but happily running again). The residents have produced some wonderful artwork and achieve so much.
